Mid-City Supply Sponsors Habitat Home | Mid-City Acquires Seventh Location Mid-City Supply Sponsors Habitat Home Mid-City Supply Company, Inc. is proud to announce they will partner with Habitat for Humanity of Elkhart County to sponsor a house for the Adams family of Middlebury, Indiana. The seven-day Habitat House Build will take place during the week of October 13th through October 21st. Volunteers for the build will include Mid-City Supply associates, customers, vendors, family and friends. “In celebration of our 60th anniversary, we wanted a way to say thanks to our community for the success we’ve enjoyed. One of our associates suggested we build a Habitat house, and it was a perfect fit,” said Jeff New, President of Mid-City Supply. “The project has been enthusiastically received by our associates, customers and vendors. All have volunteered to help. I am excited that we are able to make this important contribution to our community.” Dave and Michelle Adams currently live with their five children of ages 1, 5, 8, 16 and 17 years old. The family is very excited about their new home and five year old daughter Breanna, has already written a book called “My New House” with pictures of each family member inside. For Dave, this Habitat home is very important. “Going through a bank we wouldn’t be able to afford a loan. It’s a big relief because we’re able to afford a house.” Families purchasing a Habitat home are required to contribute 250 hours of “sweat-equity” per adult in building other Habitat homes as well as their own. Plans for the 4 bedroom, 2 bathroom house will include many “Green” products including Energy Star appliances, energy and water saving products, and in-floor heating with stained concrete floors. Mid-City Acquires Seventh Location Effective February 3, 2006 Mid-City Supply Co., Inc. is proud to announce the purchase of certain assets of Walmer Supply Co., Inc. This acquisition consists of store locations in Warsaw and Fort Wayne, Indiana. The Warsaw store, at 1610 West Center Street, will be closed for remodeling for 2 weeks and open as Mid-City Supply on February 20th. The Fort Wayne store, at 5420 Keystone Drive, will be closed permanently. The 18,000 sq. ft. Warsaw store will be the 7th branch for Mid-City Supply. This includes their headquarters and main distribution center in Elkhart, with branches in Jenison, Michigan, South Bend, Plymouth, Michigan City, and now Warsaw, Indiana. Walmer Supply Co., Inc. has been serving Kosciusko County and surrounding area since 1952, under the previous ownership of Robert Walmer and his father Warren. Jeffrey New, President of Mid-City Supply stated, “The entire Mid-City team is excited about the potential of this new branch. We look forward to bringing the Mid-City Partnership philosophy to our new customers, suppliers, and associates in Warsaw and Kosciusko County.” Mid-City Supply plans to partner with Walmers’ loyal customer base by offering a wider breadth of product and available inventory and a variety of value-added services.
